February 2022 Favorites

After this month burdened me with changes and emotional/physical exhaustion, I didn't think I'd have many favorites. (Just Neopets, Sims, and Spelunky. Again.) But here are the things that got me through February.

Spelunky: I mostly game on consoles, but decided to get a new controller for PC. It works beautifully. (And I mean beautifully, with those lights!) With that, came a reignited passion for Spelunky. I'm hoping to finally beat the secret boss. I even streamed Spelunky tips to my best gaming friend. Something I enjoyed immensely during an extremely difficult month.

Neopets: I've made more pet dreamies and discovered Food Club. I'm just so obsessed with my cute little pixel creatures.

Sims 2: I know, I know. I keep mentioning it. But posting what chaos my sims are getting into is so much fun. And I've been dabbling in some new mods. And I just love the game so much!

Final Fantasy V: I've tried almost every numbered Final Fantasy, but haven't stuck with any early ones all the way through. My friend has been streaming V for me, and I'm really enjoying it!

Skating: Some might find this silly, as I've never gone out on the ice in my life, but as a child, I used to secretly want to be an ice skater. I was captured by the beauty and art of it. The connection with music. And I think I envied the freedom and flow of it, as if they were flying. But I never really watched the Olympics until 2018 when my Mom and I somehow got obsessed, even though I hadn't watched ice skating in years. My emotional exhaustion almost kept me from turning it on this year, but I'm glad I did.

Chemical Hearts: I don't have much to say about the movie that I didn't already say about the book, but I enjoyed this adaptation.

Dinos and Comics: I've been loving these comics the past couple of months. I relate so much to almost every single one.

Music Favs: Take Care of You (OneRepublic), The Night We Met (Lord Huron), Poison & Wine (The Civil Wars), Scars (Anica), Bones (Lenni & Benta), Drive (Lovelast), Showtime (Nelly Furtado), World War 3 (Ruth B.), Low Halo (Lemolo), Green Light (Lorde), The Bed You Made (Hannah Grace), Favorite Scar (Leona Lewis).
