October 2023 Favorites

October slips into November, and the end of the year draws ever closer. Sometimes I wish time would slow down. I long for the space to rest and recharge without pressure. But I also have an aching for positive change. For now, October deserves credit for these favorites, so here we are.

Mario Wonder: This game has sparked a bit of new life into the 2D Mario formula. I loved the "New" series, but it's nice to see a different and more vibrant art style for this one. My depression was quite strong this month, and having this pleasant escape was lovely. Looking forward to playing more!

Gnosia: I'm still enjoying playing Gnosia, as well. Can't say much more about it for the sake of not spoiling. But I have been posting some scene teasers on Tumblr!

The Sky is Everywhere: This movie is... odd but interesting? The emotions burst into sudden extremes. The imagery is, at times, very bizarre. Everything is vibrant and strange. And I kind of loved it. Not for everyone, I suppose. But what is? Grief is a personal thing, too. And this film feels like grief and love and life with the volume up high. As someone who's always felt emotions and creativity in bursts of extremes, this movie spoke to me.

(New) YouTube Favs: I found a bunch of new YouTubers to enjoy recently, so I'm just going to list them! Cozy K, Dungeon Chill, Jocie B ASMR, Darling Dollz, Liss the Lass, RANG ASMR.

(And extra points to my bestie for being my own personal streamer, who plays the scary games for me so I don't have to! 😆 And also, slows down time for me, so I can just be in the moment. 🥲❤️)
