November 2025 Favorites

Like vibrant orange leaves into grey Decembers, good things often do not last. And while cold winter skies are not all bad, sometimes we must mourn the loss. Sometimes we gain something from the grief. And sometimes, it just hurts.

If this winter brings you sorrow, I wish you love and healing. 💕 As for me, I will grieve, and rest, and pray to whatever good force may be out there for better days for all of us. Here are the big (and small) things I am grateful for...

My bestie cousin, who is my sister at heart. My gaming bestie, who cheers me up daily. My sweet guinea pigs, who snuggle with me when I'm sad. My amazing therapist of 20 years. And most especially, my Mom, who is my lifelong best friend. I would not survive my worst days without you.

Weathering with You: This is a lovely movie from the director of one of my favorites, Your Name. And it made me feel emotional in a similar way. Beautiful imagery. Beautiful story. A little sad I didn't get to it sooner, but all in right timing, I suppose.

Into the Spiderverse: Finally watched this one, as well. Really cool artstyle. Fun story. Instant purchase for the collection. I also bought the second movie, but I've been told it has a big cliffhanger and I should wait. 😅

Clair Obscur: This game came highly recommended. It has beautiful visuals and music, especially engaging gameplay for a turn-based RPG, and what is shaping up to be a meaningful story. I have, for personal reasons, been hesitating on playing for a couple of weeks. But I hope I will return to this world soon, even if it means carrying a little extra personal grief with it.

Balatro: I've been having a lot of fun with Balatro again. Trying to win with every deck now that I've gotten into a good rhythm.
