Summer went away. Still the yearning stays. I played lots of Palia. (Again.) Listened to lots of new music. (Again.) And even did a bit of reading. On to the favorites...

Palia: I finally switched (😆) to playing Palia on PC. I was struggling to sit at my desk for long periods of time, so I did something unconventional by running a long HDMI cord to my TV. Add in a wireless controller and you have a console-like experience. Which has been a game-changer, so to speak. Palia is beautiful on PC, and I now have the chance to more easily play a bunch of other games I've collected on Steam.

Spotify Jams: Sometimes we get so used to technology's presence in our lives that it becomes unremarkable or even a burden. But every once in a while something surprises me. Like discovering that you and a good friend from states away can listen to the same music at the same time. Maybe most people had realized this feature existed, but I hadn't. I also, until recently, didn't have the right person to share it with. And under those circumstances, this is a very moving and magical experience.

My Fault: A series of events led me to watching this film on Prime Video. I consider myself to be mostly past my days of loving the "bad boy" and love/hate tropes. (Mostly.) But this has forbidden love. Which I will probably never be over. Is it... Clichè? Somewhat. Over the top? Yes. Unrealistic? Certainly. But as I've mentioned, I have a weakness for forbidden love. And sometimes you need to indulge in a guilty pleasure without... well, guilt.

Control: I watched my bestie play Control, and like Quantum Break before it, I really enjoyed it. It is a bit confusing at times, more abstract in concept. But definitely a cool experience.

Music Favs: Beauty on the Fire (Natalie Imbruglia), The Prophecy & The Black Dog (Taylor Swift), Tourist Season (Miel), Glass Words (Future Jr.), Midnight City (M83), Renew (Banff), Alone with You (Gregory Dillon), Rilo Kiley (in general).
