Reintroducing Shadow

I felt like it was time to introduce - or reintroduce - the main project I've been working on lately. Dreaming in Shadow. This story has been with me for twenty years now, as crazy as that feels to say. I began writing Dreaming in Shadow while I was a freshman in high school, inspired by a strange dream and my new obsession with the recently released Peter Pan movie.

The story follows a girl named Jodi who gets involved with a gang called Shadow's Guard because she's convinced the leader is her lost unrequited love and former boy-next-door, Jeremy Summers. While I've certainly written about serious topics in my Magic Inc. series, Dreaming in Shadow is a much darker story overall, dealing with Jodi's moral dilemma of protecting the boy she loves or stopping the death and destruction Shadow's Guard has created.

Dreaming in Shadow was always supposed to be my first novel. This story had hints of the social anxiety, bullying, and obsessive love that were a part of my growing up experience, but the storyline was much more removed from me. I spent years working on it (and the wider world of The Timeline Universe) before I realized Magic Inc. needed to be a story, a series, and my main focus. But lately, I've been drawn back into some of the stories I set aside for that focus.

I will, of course, continue Jane's story (which is so very precious to me), but I also want to start zooming out to the wider Timeline Universe. There's so much more to see! ⌛️
